In December 2013, CEA LIST and PRIME introduced innovative technologies addressing key challenges for the future of the automotive industry to U.S. companies both in Silicon Valley and in Detroit. As the automotive industry is radically evolving towards electrical, connected, and autonomous cars, CEA LIST presented technologies having the potential to significantly improve user-experience, such as:

  • Intuitive and safe human-machine interfaces in particular based on acoustic technology and multimodal surfaces;
  • Seamless connectivity and bandwidth aggregation on the move – onboard router;
  • Vision tracking, Object recognition and Augmented Reality applications.

2 spin-off companies of CEA LIST joined the effort. Krono-Safe presented its real-time operating system that promises to be a game-changer for functional safety applications, all the more as the industry will move towards autonomous driving. WiN MS presented its wire network diagnostics tools that can tremendously reduce the risks of malfunction in cars as well as in other sectors like telecom, aeronautics or railways.
