Optics & Photonics conferences in the U.S. in 2015/2016

Conferences, when carefully chosen, represent a unique opportunity to launch your product in the US and to meet with potential users, partners, opinion leaders, analysts, and experts.

But remember that you have to come prepared:

  • Look into opportunities to become a speaker several months in advance,
  • Contact your targets in advance,
  • Draft and rehearse a show pitch,

  • 2015 ACSB Cell Biology Meeting, December 12-16, 2015 in San Diego, CA. The 2015 ASCB meeting overarching theme is about making connections at different scales, from the intracellular level to the tissue level, to the organism level all the way up to the macrocosmic level, all in the light of big data and information integration. This integration will help us ask the right questions and find answers to the challenging problems in medicine, living systems, and ecosystems.
  • American Geological Union Fall Meeting, December 14-18, 2015 in San Francisco, CA. The AGU Fall Meeting brings together the entire Earth and space sciences community for discussions of emerging trends and the latest research. The technical program includes presentations on new and cutting-edge science. With nearly 24,000 attendees, the AGU Fall Meeting is the largest Earth and space science meeting in the world.

February

  • MD&M West, February 9-11, 2016 in Anaheim, CA. Thousands of leading manufacturing vendors will gather in Anaheim to display a wide range of the newest automation technologies. From robotics to vision inspection systems, and everything in between, this year’s event will have people talking all year long. French Tech Hub will attend.
  • Photonics West, February 13-18, 2016 in San Francisco, CA. The #1 laser, photonics, and biomedical optics conference: 20,000 attendees, two exhibitions with more than 1,250 exhibiting companies, 70 special events, 4,800 papers in the areas of biomedical optics, optoelectronics, industrial lasers, nanophotonics, MOEMS-MEMs, and more. French Tech Hub will attend.
  • SPIE Medical Imaging, February 17-March 3, 2016 in San Diego, CA. The SPIE Medical Imaging meeting is a recognized premier forum for reporting state-of-the-art research and development in medical imaging. The conference will address topics ranging from underlying fundamental scientific principles, to technology developments, scientific evaluation, and clinical application. The symposium covers the full range of medical imaging modalities including medical image acquisition, display, processing, analysis, perception, decision support, and informatics.

April

  • OSA Biomedical Optics congress, April 25-28, 2016 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This new OSA Congress will focus on technological solutions to medical challenges and medical applications. It will cover a diversity of cutting-edge research and innovative new tools and techniques, and will bring together an international group of leading engineers, optical and medical scientists, and physicians, as well as junior researchers and graduate students, who are engaged in optical methods to advance discovery and application of medical science to clinical practice.

  • SPIE Translational Biophotonics 2016, May 16-17, 2016 in Houston, TX. SPIE Translational Biophotonics 2016 will bring together representatives of three communities: academia, industry and practicing clinicians. Organized by SPIE and Rice University, this meeting will enable discussion between these related communities and encourage continuing development of new technologies and techniques with the goal of successful translation into practical biomedical use.

June

  • CLEO:2016, June 5-10, 2016 in San Jose, CA. Laser science to photonic applications. CLEO (Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics) serves as the premier international forum for scientific and technical optics, uniting the fields of lasers and opto-electronics by bringing together all aspects of laser technology, from basic research to industry applications. French Tech Hub will attend.
  • Sensors Expo & Conference, June 9-11, 2015 in Long Beach, CA. Photonics Media will chair an Optical Sensing & Detection education track on Thursday, June 11. The track will feature speakers on a range of optical sensing technologies including MEMS-based acoustic and optical sensors, fiber optic position sensors, 3-D optical deformation and strain measurement and more.
